Discovery of Central Visayas
Central Visayas is a region of the Philippines, designated as Region VII.
It is located in the central part of the Visayas island group, and consists of three provinces—Bohol, Cebu, and Siquijor— and the highly urbanized cities of Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue. The region is dominated by the native speakers of Cebuano. Cebu City is its regional center.
The land area of the region is 9,659.19 km². As of the 2010 census, it has a population of 6,800,180 people, making it the 5th most populous of the country’s 17 regions.
DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Touchdown Manila
Transfer to a small boutique hotel in Makati at a commercial area surrounded by restaurants and shopping centers.
Day 2: Depart for Dumaguete
After your breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Dumaguete (1 hour flight). It will take approximately 45mins from Dumaguete airport to your beachfront resort with the view of Apo Island from a distance.
Enjoy the hotel amenities. Go for a swim, relax under the sun or take a dip in their outdoor hot tub.
Day 3: Visit Apo Island
After breakfast, you depart by private Bangka for the magnificent small island of fishermen, Apo Island. Its seabed is protected so you will have the opportunity to discover beautiful corals and fish, and a big chance you get to swim with turtles!
All the snorkeling will make you hungry, so we’ve included a packed lunch that you can enjoy for a picnic on your Bangka or the beach shore if the tides permit.
Day 4: Visit Malatapay Market and Balanan Lake
A private car will take you to Balanan Lake, where you can enjoy kayaking! The nature lovers will enjoy the trek around the lake, it takes about 2 hours for the complete lap (4km) and you will reach pristine waterfalls in the end.
The trek is a pathway on one side and a cemented way on the other side (it can be a little slippery so watch your steps).
Go and have fun! This beautiful place has a lot to offer and anyone will enjoy taking a swim in the pools surrounded by tropical forest. Experience and enjoy this lively place.
Day 5: Transfer to The Mystical Island of Siquijor
Transfer to Siquijor by ferry (45mins). The hotel shuttle will meet you at the pier for a 15min ride to your resort in the middle of the jungle and in front of the Ocean. Enjoy the hotel’s 3 swimming pools and 2 restaurants or go snorkeling and kayaking at their protected coral reef right in front of the hotel.
Day 6-8: Enjoy Siquijor at your own pace
Take time to discover the quiet island of Siquijor! Your hotel offers many excursions (please inquire with the reception). You can also rent a motorcycle and visit the island’s attractions yourself.
Visit a local shaman and get a blessing! Or you can choose to have a relaxing massage and/or sunbathe while having a few cocktails in front of the pool or the sea.
Day 9: Transfer to Bohol in the island of Panglao
After breakfast, you will take a short ferry ride (3hours) and a 30-minute car ride to your beautiful beachfront boutique hotel in Panglao Island. You have a free afternoon to choose your own adventure or just relax.
Day 10: Countryside tour of Bohol
After breakfast, your private guide will take you to the viewpoint of the Chocolate Hills, visit the tarsiers, this small atypical-eyed primate found exclusively on Bohol.
Stopover at some of the oldest Spanish churches in the country. Take a cruise in the heart of the jungle on the wild river Loboc. You will have lunch on the boat and discover Filipino dances and traditional songs.
Visit a local blacksmith and they will teach you how to make a “bolo” (Filipino Sword). Finally, a quick lesson on how to weave palm trees.
Day 11: Pamilacan Island Tour + Mangrove tour and Firefly watching
An early morning trip to Pamilacan Island on a native boat since there’s a higher chance of meeting dolphins and an opportunity to do some snorkeling. You’ll have a picnic at the beach and back in the early afternoon.
In the evening, you’ll have Bangka ride through the mangrove forest and visit the fish market for dinner and watch the fireflies!
Day 12: Bohol
Enjoy your last day in paradise the way you want it!
Day 13: Return to Manila
Transfer to Bohol airport (1 hour flight). Then transfer to your hotel close to shopping centers and restaurants in the heart of Makati. Walk around Ayala Center.
Day 14: Manila
Last minute shopping around Ayala Center or take a taxi to Bonifacio High Street for instance.
Day 15: Please Come Again
Transfer to International Airport. Hope to see you again. Mabuhay!
